The Karachaevo-Cherkessian government has refuted the rumours that big terrorist act is possible

KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSIA, 27 February, Caucasus Times. Members of Karachaevo-Cherkessian government have refuted the rumours that preparations of a large-scale terrorist act in Karachaevo-Cherkessia are currently going on. Sources in Karachaevo-Cherkessian government told CaucasusTimes correspondent that republican law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a number of special preventive measures.

In the words of the representative of the republican government, tightening of preventive measures including examinations of the cars by traffic militia on the republican roads and closure of all market places for the period of three days caused misunderstanding among the population.

Republican Deputy Prime Minister Ruslan Kochkarov responsible for the local law enforcement agencies told journalists that “all security measures taken in Karachaevo-Cherkessia are of preventive character. There is no serous threat to the population of the republic; general situation in Karachaevo-Cherkessia is calm and stable”.

In the words of Health Minister Umar Khabchaev, preventive measures taken in all hospitals of Karachaevo-Cherkessia are “routine”. “On the eve of the holidays I recommend chief doctors to release from the hospitals those patients who feel almost recovered. Also, admission regime in the hospitals is usually tightened during week-ends and holidays. General situation is normal”, – Umar Khabchaev stressed.
