INGUSHETIA, December 1, Caucasus Times – On November 30 and December 1, the Russian troops deployed in the republic cast their votes at the several polls during the preliminary parliamentary elections, the Caucasus Times correspondent reports citing Musa Yevloyev, the deputy chairman of the electoral commission.
According to Russian legislation, the polls may be established as well in the inhabited points as in the military bases. There are two Russian troops bases in Ingushetia, namely the 503-rd motorized infantry regiment in Troitskaya village and a military base in Nazran of Ingushetia.
“The preliminary poll is to be held due to Russian legislation because the servicemen would not be able to vote on December 7. Accordingly, the electoral commission of Ingushetia has to ensure the servicemen their constitutional right to vote and set the polls where the bases are deployed,” said Mr. Yevloyev.
The commission official expects over 153.000 voters at the 120 polls around the republic.
