Police seized ammunition in Russia’s Ingushetia

Nazran, 3 December, Caucasus Times: Officers from law-enforcement agencies have detained two local residents in Ingushetia’s Sunzhenskiy District. A huge arsenal of ammunition was seized from them, a member of the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service directorate for Ingushetia said on Wednesday [3 December].

“A total of 12 RPG grenade-launcher projectiles, five rounds for the PG-7 hollow-charge anti-tank grenade, eight disposable anti-tank grenade-launchers, and over 1,300 machine-gun cartridges of the 7.62-mm calibre were found and seized during a search in a car in which the detainees were moving,” the agency’s source said.

The investigative department of the Russian Federal Security directorate for Ingushetia launched criminal proceedings against detainees Aslan Dudurkhanov and Alikhan Khidirev under Part 2 of Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal purchasing, carrying, and storing ammunition by an organized group).

The Nazranovskiy District court put those accused under custody and the latter have pleaded guilty in their testimony, the agency’s interlocutor said.
