DAGESTAN, September 20, Caucasus Times – One of five militants destroyed recently by law enforcement agents has been identified as a local of Kaspiysk town hot suspect for allegedly killing two police officers early this August, the regional Interior Ministry officials said in an interview with Caucasus Times correspondent declining to disclose the identified name.
The firefight between a group of insurgents and special forces that came yesterday in a forest close to Talgy village about five miles from Makhachkala city in Dagestan resulted in five militants killed and two task police casualties.
The special task forces and police of Dagestan reportedly confronted with the militant group while sweeping the area to spot possible terrorists’ hideouts. In the battle started at five a. m. when the police forces cordoned off the militants camp and opened fire supported by a gunship hovering above. All five alleged terrorist were killed in the combat. The police said they found site several tents, assault rifles, ammunition, plastic explosives and the US military uniform.
