Gazprom plans to rebuild gas pipelines in North Caucasus

STAVROPOL, 5 October, Caucasus Times: The protection of gas pipelines against acts of sabotage is being strengthened in the North Caucasus. For this purpose, Gazprom is planning to rebuild part of ground pipelines and make them underground, Gazprom has said.

It is planned to rebuild as underground the current ground gas pipelines on the territory of North Ossetia, Ingushetia and on the administrative border with the Chechen Republic. This is connected with the increase of the subversive explosions on the gas pipelines on the territory of the North Caucasus in recent years.

It is planned to build a total of 63 gas pipeline sections, the length of which is 7.1 kilometres.
