Four rebels detained, policeman killed in Russia’s Dagestan
DAGESTAN, 5 October, Caucasus Times: Four militants have been detained in Dagestan during a special operation, in which a policeman has been killed, the Interior Ministry of the republic has said.
The operation to detain a VAZ-21015 car carrying a group of militants was carried out in Dagestan’s Magaramkentskiy District yesterday [4 October], the source said. A clash took place near the village of Maka-Kazmalyar. The militants shot dead one of the members of law-enforcement agencies, another one was wounded and taken to hospital.
Three militants were local residents. One more militant was a citizen of the Chechen Republic. He was wounded during the detention and taken to hospital, the source said.
Moreover, a special messenger carrying a special mail has been attacked in Dagestan as well. Two unidentified armed persons threatened the former who was in a ZIL vehicle, the source said. They took his service pistol and a briefcase.
The criminals escaped from the scene, their search is under way.
