Former prosecutor of Russia’s Dagestan sues papers for defamation
DAGESTAN, 17 October, Caucasus Times: The former prosecutor of the Russian republic of Dagestan, Imam Yaraliyev, has taken four media outlets to court for defamation, the Caucasus Times correspondent reported on 19 October.
Yaraliyev said that the newspapers Novoye Delo, Molodezh Dagestana, Svobodnaya Respublika and Dagestantsy insulted his honour and dignity while commenting on his resignation.
The court hearings against Svobodnaya Respublika will be held on 20 October. Earlier, a court in Makhachkala rejected Yaraliyev’s suit against Dagestantsy and announced a break in the court hearings against Molodezh Dagestana, the website said.
