Alexander Pochinok believes federal center should finance only concrete projects in Chechnya
ROSTOV-ON-DON, 22 March, Caucasus Times. Deputy Presidential Representative in the Russia’s South Federal District Alexander Pochinok believes that financial resources from the federal center aimed at financing Chechen economy should be allotted only for well prepared and confirmed projects.
“Money will not be used and will be just lost. There will be no possibility to take those money back. Times when money in Russia used to be allotted only on the basis of somebody’s promises are gone. Financial resources are being allotted to concrete customer and to concrete project with the officially accepted documentation. But this is still not in place there”, – Pochinok indicated while commenting on the recent budget scandal in Chechnya.
In his words, budget was always formed taking into account the interests of Chechen Republic. He also emphasized that necessary assistance would be given to Chechnya to increase republican budget, “but at present there are not enough projects, which can be used for alloting those financial resources”.
Chechen People’s Assembly has recently rejected republican draft budget proposed by the government, which stipulated financing that equalled to 19 billion rubles. Chechen deputies requested to substancially increase financing of the republic.
