Two thousand 900 laying hens died in Dagestan during last twenty-four hours

DAGESTAN, 14 February, Caucasus Times. Quoting press service of the South Regional Center of the Ministry for Extraordinary Situations of Russia, Interfax reported that two thousand 900 laying hens died during last twenty-four hours in the poultry farm “Makhachkalinskaya” in the village of Shankhal in Dagestan.

Total number of all died hens in this poultry farm equals now to 45 thousand 300. Died hens are being buried in special ditches three meters in depth. Before hens’ bodies are buried, all ditches are processed with the chloride of lime.

Materials taken from the bodies of died hens have been sent to the republican veterinary laboratory, to central veterinary laboratory to Moscow and to Institute of Poultry Farming in St.Peterburg. Results of the tests are expected by this Friday. Cases of illness of people working in this poultry farm have not been reported.
