People of Dagestan collect humanitarian help for survivors of hostage taking at Beslan school

DAGESTAN, September 8, Caucasus Times – Scores of state-run and private organizations in Dagestan offer their help to bring a relief to those who suffered in a horrific school siege last week in Beslan.

The people of the republic have contributed to bank account and special fund their day’s fee to support families of victims, Caucasus Times correspondent quoted local authorities saying that for now, the sum of money collected has exceeded several thousand rubles.

In the late few days, 270 donors have came to medical stations to give blood for transfusion, while a lot more in a queue to give their blood to those injured at Beslan Middle School №1. Hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other medical facilities of the republic have been prepared to take for treatment the children suffering burns, traumas and gunshot wounds.
