Moscow-appointed minister introduced to the Interior Ministry personnel

KARACHAY-CHERKESSIA, February 7, Caucasus Times – Nikolai Osyak, a newly appointed Interior minister was introduced yesterday to the Ministry’s officers, Caucasus Times correspondent reports.

The Russian authorities being much concerned over the recent political crisis ensued as a result of a scandalous assassination of seven local businessmen last year, will direct their efforts to improve the situation in the law enforcement agencies, Michael Pankov, Russian deputy Interior minister was quoted as saying introducing Mr. Osyak.

“We expect certain positive changes to be made in the law enforcement agencies of the republic in the first half of this year,” Mr. Pankov said.
