Ingushetia’s police try to track down possible accomplices of hostage takers at Beslan school in the republic

INGUSHETIA, September 6, Caucasus Times – A joint special operation of federal security service and Ingushetia’s law enforcement agencies is being carried out in Insughetia to detect possible accomplices of insurgents who stormed the school in Beslan, North Ossetia.

Early morning of September 6, the “power structures” units with armored vehicles sealed off Psehdakh village of Malgobeksky district in Ingushetia and started checking ID papers of temporary residents, largely Chechens, of the village. In some cases the militaries conducted the search houses. Several young people have been detained in the sweep, locals said.

Shortly before the sweep another “special task operation” has been conducted in Inarky and Voznesenskaya villages resulted in several arrests.

The ID’s checks were carried out completely in accordance with the low, said an Interior Ministry officer in his interview with Caucasus Times correspondent, to detect suspect who might have been linked to terrorists who stormed the school in Beslan.
