KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSIA, 22 December, Caucasus Times. Recent opening of a new line of a gas-main has been celebrated in the village of Ust-Dzheguta in Dzheguta district of Karachaevo-Cherkessia.
Sources in the administration of the President of Karachaevo-Cherkessia informed Caucasus Times correspondent that around 60 households had been already gasified. Other 70 households will be gasified during next year.
“More than 120 million rubles were invested in the gasification of the republic. Much more large-scale projects are planned for the year 2006 when around 500 million rubles are planned to be invested in gasification”, – sources in the presidential administration informed.
Mustafa Batdyev, President of Karachaevo-Cherkessia signed a construction agreement with Alexander Ryazanov, First Deputy Chairman of Gazprom, which provides for the building of two large gas-pipes in the republic – Karachaevsk-Dombai and Zelenchuk-Pregradnaja. Construction of the gas-pipes is planned to start in summer 2006.
Government of Karachaevo-Cherkessia is planning to complete gasification of all settlements in the territory of the republic by 2010.
